Western Potash is focused on the Milestone, Saskatchewan project  (35 km southeast of Regina) which is amenable to solution mining. Solution mining has several advantages: 1) lower capital costs 2) reduced engineering risk 3) shorter development and construction timelines 4) operational scalability

Geophysical logs from the Milestone wells indicate a strong heat anomaly ranging between 62 - 65.5 C minimum. Since the solubility of potash increases with temperature this may prove to be a significant factor in the reduction of operational costs.
